Understanding Pain
Posture Is About More Than Standing Up Straight
When most people think about posture, they think about appearance.
Standing taller. Looking more confident. Not slouching in photos.
While those things matter, posture is about much more than how you look.
Have you ever reached the end of the day and felt like your neck and shoulders are carrying the weight of the world? Or noticed that you're constantly shifting position in your chair, stretching your back or rubbing your neck without even thinking about it?
Often, that's your body telling you it's working harder than it needs to.
The way you sit, stand and move throughout the day influences how efficiently your body functions. When you're constantly rounded through your shoulders, looking down at screens or carrying tension through your upper body, simple things like breathing deeply, moving freely and maintaining energy can become harder work.
And here's the interesting part. Most people don't realise how much effort their body has been using just to get through the day until it starts moving better. They stand taller, breathe easier, feel less tension and often have more energy, not because they've changed who they are, but because their body is working more efficiently.

Modern Life Doesn't Make It Easy
Let's be honest, most of us aren't spending our days walking through forests or swimming in oceans.
We're sitting in cars, working at computers, answering emails, scrolling on phones, helping kids with homework, watching Netflix and squeezing everything else life throws at us into the gaps.
It's no wonder our bodies adapt to the positions we spend the most time in.
The good news is that posture isn't something you're stuck with.
At The Bod Squad, we don't believe in forcing people to sit perfectly straight or chasing some ideal posture. Instead, we focus on helping you move better, build strength, improve body awareness and create habits that work in the real world through chiropractic care, exercise advice and lifestyle adaptations.
Because when your body feels strong, supported and capable, you don't spend your day thinking about your posture.
You simply get on with enjoying your life.

Why Does My Back or Neck Keep Hurting?
If you've ever wondered why your back or neck seems to be the first place your body lets you know something isn't right, you're definitely not alone.
Low back pain is the leading cause of disability worldwide, with research showing approximately 60–70% of people will experience low back pain at some stage in their lives.
But while back and neck pain are incredibly common, understanding why they happen isn't always simple.
Pain can come from many different structures including muscles, joints, discs, nerves and the way your body moves and adapts. That pain travelling into your hip or leg might be sciatica, but it can also come from areas such as the pelvis, joints or surrounding muscles.
For women, our bodies are constantly adapting. Pregnancy, carrying children, hormonal changes, stress, changes in muscle strength, exercise habits and the demands of everyday life can all influence how our bodies feel and function.

Understanding Pain
Why Does My Back or Neck Keep Hurting?
At The Bod Squad, we know pain is only one piece of the puzzle.
A sore lower back isn't just a "bad back". Neck tension isn't just "bad posture". Understanding your body means looking at how everything works together, including your movement, strength, lifestyle, stress levels, sleep, nervous system and the demands being placed on your body every day.
Whether you're dealing with a recent injury, ongoing stiffness, recurring flare-ups or that frustrating feeling that your body just isn't doing what you want it to anymore, chiropractic care focuses on supporting your spine, movement and nervous system function, helping you feel more confident, capable and connected to your body again.
Because the goal isn't just getting you out of pain.
It's helping you understand your body, trust it and keep doing the things you love.

Why Do I Keep Getting Headaches?
It's one of the most common questions we hear in the clinic.
Maybe your headache starts at the base of your skull and creeps forward. Maybe it settles behind your eyes after a long day at work, arrives with neck pain and tension, or appears every month around your cycle. Perhaps your migraines have changed during pregnancy, with hormonal changes or during different stages of life.
The truth is there isn't always a single answer.
Poor posture, muscle tension, stress, disrupted sleep, hormonal changes, dehydration, screen time and even the way we move throughout the day can all contribute. That's why simply taking another painkiller doesn't always solve the problem.

Connecting the Dots
One of the things we enjoy most is helping women connect the dots.
The tension headache that builds after hours at the computer may have more to do with your neck, posture and muscle tension. The headache that appears around your cycle may have a hormonal component. The one you wake up with may mean we need to look at sleep quality, stress levels or what your body is doing overnight.
Understanding what may be contributing to your symptoms often creates opportunities for change.
Whether that involves chiropractic care, improving movement, reducing physical tension, supporting nervous system health, exploring nutrition or simply making sense of patterns you may not have noticed before, our goal is to help you better understand your body and feel more in control of your health.
