Pregnancy...
Changes Everything
Growing a baby is one of the most incredible things your body will ever do.
It's exciting, emotional, life-changing and, at times, completely overwhelming.
One minute you're celebrating a positive pregnancy test and imagining life with your baby. The next you're navigating changing hormones, disrupted sleep, a growing belly, new aches and pains, and more advice than you know what to do with.
Between Google searches, pregnancy apps, social media, family and friends, it can be hard to know what's normal, what's not, and who to listen to.
At The Bod Squad, we love supporting women through pregnancy. Our goal is simple: to help you understand your changing body, support you through the challenges that arise and help you feel confident as you prepare for birth and the exciting chapter that follows.

Pregnancy...
Feels So Different
Pregnancy asks a lot of your body.
From the moment you conceive, your body begins making extraordinary changes to support your growing baby. By the third trimester, your blood volume has increased by almost 50%, your heart is working harder, your centre of gravity has shifted and pregnancy hormones are helping prepare your body for birth.
One of these hormones, relaxin, helps prepare your body for birth by softening ligaments and supporting changes within the pelvis. While this is a completely normal and necessary process, it can sometimes contribute to feelings of instability, tension or discomfort as your body adapts.
At the same time, your abdominal muscles are stretching, your posture is changing and the muscles supporting your spine and pelvis are being asked to work differently than ever before.
When you look at everything your body is adapting to, it's no surprise that many women experience:
-
- Back pain
- Pelvic girdle pain
- Sciatica
- Rib pain
- Neck and shoulder tension
- Headaches
- Swelling
- Fatigue
- Sleep difficulties
In fact, research suggests that up to 70% of women experience low back pain during pregnancy, while pelvic girdle pain affects around one in five women. If you've found yourself wondering whether what you're experiencing is normal, you're certainly not alone.

Pregnancy...
With Chiropractic Care
Many women first seek pregnancy chiropractic care because of back pain, pelvic pain, sciatica or general discomfort.
But pregnancy chiropractic care is about much more than managing aches and pains.
As your body changes, so do the demands placed on your muscles, joints, posture and nervous system. Chiropractic care focuses on supporting your body's ability to adapt to these changes, helping you move more comfortably and confidently throughout pregnancy.
Lorraine has a special interest in pregnancy care having completed additional training in the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic assessment and approach used during pregnancy that focuses on pelvic balance and function.

Pregnancy...
Every One Is Different
There is no perfect pregnancy.
Some women feel amazing. Others find it challenging. Most experience a little of both.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don't have to navigate it alone.
Whether you're in your first trimester, preparing for birth or simply looking for guidance from a team that understands the physical and emotional changes of pregnancy, we're here to help.
Because pregnancy isn't something you need to "get through."
It's a season of life to be supported through, understood and, whenever possible, enjoyed.
